Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith are featured in an upcoming issue of Architectural Digest magazine, where the superstars take readers on a visual tour of their palatial dwelling. The gorgeous 25,000-square-foot, 9-bedroom Calabasas, Calif. home took them seven years to build to their liking.
The famously private Smith family gives us an exclusive peek into their home life, including their in-house studio where 10-year-old daughter Willow recorded her hit single “Whip My Hair,” a meditation room, two kids’ rooms, one with bunk beds, the other a canopy bed; and a great room with views out to the mountains. The outside property includes a lake, tennis and basketball courts, and three golf holes. The entire house has a circular floor plan that Will says creates “an infinite cycle that represented what Jada and I hoped for our love.”
Jada recalls the lengthy construction period, calling it a ‘labor of love’:
“…for Will and me this home was always a spiritual endeavor. We’re very earthy, organic people. We wanted to create a family retreat, something made by hand and as natural as possible, something that ties back to the land.”
There are more photos of the Smith’s home below, of which the architect described as having “various interpretations of adobe in Persian, Moroccan, Spanish, as well as Southwest American cultures”:
