The-Dream Giving Fans a Gift

The-Dream has announced via his Twitter page that he plans to release a free Internet album called Terius Nash Est. 1977 before Aug. 31.

The-Dream revealed his free album plans on Aug. 1, after also revealing that his  fourth studio album, The Love, IV: Diary of a Madman, which he originally intended to release on his birthday, Sept. 20, has been pushed back due to “contract negotiations” with his label, Def Jam Records.

“LP4 is Underway I THE-DREAM have decided to go forward with “Diary Of A Madman” LP it almost didnt happen. So ill be in my DefJam uniform…” tweeted The-Dream, adding, “for atleast one More Season! Also a free 10 song Internet album will be released by Aug 31st. LP 4 because of the Contract negotiations….. does not have a date but it will be released 4th quarter but i will give a 10 song Internet LP while you guys wait!!!! LOVE YOU.”

The-Dream then revealed the name of the free album and claimed that he will be releasing the project under his real name, Terius Nash. The-Dream will also be shooting videos for Terius Nash Est. 1977 throughout the week.

“The Internet LP is entitled ‘1977’ and will be released under my real name Terius Nash not The-Dream. Shooting Videos for 1977 all this week,” tweeted The-Dream, adding, “The “TERIUS NASH EST. 1977” is very personal and to my Fans!”

Although fans will surely be happy to hear free new music from The-Dream, the singer shared that Island Def Jam is none too pleased about his free project.

“BTW NO ONE AT DEFJAM IS HAPPY ABOUT A FREE ALBUM LOL…. they are trying to stop it!” tweeted The-Dream

The next day, The-Dream, who’s released three moderately successful albums, Love Hate, Love vs. Money and Love King, over the past four years, candidly spoke about the release of his free album and explained that he’s doing it solely out of love for creating music.

“Lets gmake it clear i do music now because i love it We all know My album sales doesnt give me the liberty to release free music , my writing career does. im not afraid of Sales ive sold records! its about the Music. Im not Mainstream, Im not pretty and ill never use Music as abuse tool,” tweeted The-Dream. “My music is about the culture , and im blessed to be able to express my self without fear! if 1 person listens ive succeeded. my impact will never be about sales its about Influence. I can Say with out a doubt just as i have been influenced. i am now Influencing others…. and theres no amount of money that can compare especially when ur successful. My purpose is to serve Music.” –nicholas robinson
