While the world is still abuzz with the news of pop superstar Beyoncé’s pregnancy, the singer and her proud husband, Jay-Z, have received a flood of well-wishes from slew of celebrity friends, including Kelly Rowland and J. Cole. Now, the future parents have one more star to add to that list, Nicki Minaj, who excitedly exclaimed that she wants to be the godmother to Beyoncé and Jay’s child.
While walking the red carpet at her Young Money boss Lil Wayne’s album release party on Aug. 28, the Pink Friday bombshell, who debuted her fairy godmother persona, Martha, last year, gushed to Necole Bitchie about wanting to take up the mantle of godmother for the Carters.
“Oh, my baby, Beyoncé! I will be the godmother. Love you,” said Minaj.
“Basketball Wives” star Shaunie O’Neal also chimed in on the baby news.
“I’m so happy for her and Jay-Z. It’s like we’ve all been sitting around waiting for Beyoncé to get pregnant. I don’t know why we had all this pressure on the child to get pregnant but now that it’s here we’re like ‘yes!’ ” said O’Neal, adding, “I wanna go to the baby shower.”
Well, we guess we’ll have to wait and see if the Carters will bestow godmother duties to Minaj, aka Martha.
