How did Emory University connect with CNN for “CNN Dialogues”?

CNN generously sponsored a series which is designed to bring together people with different points of view to discuss major issues. What appeals to us at Emory is that it represents engagement. The changing demographics of the country is something we can all see and experience.

How important is diversity at Emory University?

Diversity is very important at Emory. The school is known for diversity in its student body and faculty. That’s something we really believe in as a core principle. In order to get the best thinking and best talent that’s available, you have to be diverse.

Why was it important for Emory students to be a part of the discussion?

It’s great for students to hear a high level discussion about where their country is going. Because they are the generation that will inherit this country and and responsibility for our democracy.
