The latest pics are in from the Blackglama ad campaign featuring Janet Jackson and, really, what can you say about this 45-year-old pop icon but, “dayyum.”
Not many of us can say we look better now than we did 25 years ago, but Janet is proving that age ain’t nothin’ but a number when it comes to shedding pounds, getting fit and looking your best.
Some of you might be thinking Janet’s getting a lot of help from a little friend called “Photoshop,” and of course she is, but I’m close to Jackson’s age, and there isn’t enough Photoshop in the world to make a picture of me look like that. I am all inspired to get to the gym, thank you very much, Janet.
After that overly dramatized Superbowl bra mishap several years back, some in the industry casually wrote Michael Jackson’s little sister off as a “has-been,” but they were seriously mistaken. It seems the best of Miss Jackson may be yet to come.
Over the last few years Janet has made her way back into the spotlight, starring in Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married?, For Colored Girls, and Why Did I Get Married Too?. And to prove she hasn’t abandoned her music fans in favor of film, this year the Pop princess began an “intimate” concert tour dubbed “Number Ones” where her audience can get up close and personal with her in smaller venues around the world.
As if that’s not enough, Janet’s book “True You” topped the New York Times best-seller list this year, and she has a 2012 calendar due out in a few weeks.
