Rapper Big Sean found himself on the wrong side of the law back in August when he and a friend were arrested in New York after a 17-year-old girl accused them of sexual abuse during a concert. But now the rapper will avoid any jail time after sexual abuse charges against him were dropped when he opted to plead guilty to a lesser charge.
Sean and his friend, Willie Antonio Hansbro, were charged with third-degree sexual abuse, forcible touching and second-degree unlawful imprisonment.
But according to TMZ, prosecutors agreed to drop the first two charges against Sean after he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor unlawful imprisonment, leaving the rapper to pay a $750 fine.
Despite the guilty plea, Sean’s lawyer, Scott Leemon, insists that the rapper “did not engage in any type of sexual misconduct.”
There’s no word yet on Hansbro’s fate.
Well, Sean may have to shell out a measly check for a celebrity, but we’re sure he’s just glad that he will remain a free man. –nicholas robinson
