Wale on the Verge of Superstardom: 7 Artists Who Should Be Bigger Stars

Estelle: Estelle Fante Swaray is the brown British bombshell who rose to the forefront aboard the Kanye West steam engine “American Boy” in 2008 that reached the top ten charts around the world, climbed to the top spot in Great Britain, and won the Best Rap/Sung Collaboration in many awards programs. It was also named the No. 7 song on Rolling Stone‘s list of the 100 Best Songs of 2008.

But Estelle wasn’t discovered by Kanye. Her collaboration revealed the star that she already was, which is why Kanye decided to roll with this vibrant vocalist who looks like she was specially handcrafted at a Hershey factory. The 32-year-old, London-born-and bred beauty of Senegalese and Granada parentage, had a string of hit records, including “1980” and “Free,” the latter of which she wrote. Her debut album The 18th Day rose to No. 35 on the U.K. music charts and her videos to the aforementioned songs received heavy rotation in her country, which led her to Kanye. It’s our hope that she is led next to stand-alone stardom, which her talents deserve.
