Andrea D. Arceneaux is the assistant county attorney; youth and community advocate of the Harris County Attorney’s Office; and NAACP ACT-SO.
Arceneaux credits her parents and the drama series “Perry Mason” for shaping her decision to serve her community and to practice law. “From a very young age my parents instilled in me the importance of community service. … Similarly, at a very young age, I was attracted to the nursing profession. [While] watching ‘Perry Mason,’ my interest in the law was piqued. When I finished nursing school, my interest in law grew and I went on to pursue my law degree.”
Arceneaux believes there’s power in empowering others, and to wit, she’s a strong advocate for giving back and paying it forward. She encourages others to “have passion for whatever career you are pursuing. Develop knowledge, skills, and expertise to become a leader in your field, and always mentor someone if you’re in a position of power.” –zondra hughes
