Hip-hop pals Kanye West and Nicki Minaj share a lot in common, including a love for women’s clothes, women’s breasts and a knack for wowing a crowd with their over-the-top performances. And now the “Monster” duo get to enjoy all three when they hit the stage, alongside Maroon 5, as this year’s featured performers at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
According to The Boombox, Minaj is the latest addition to lineup, only being added to the show after fellow avante-garde rapper-singer Cee Lo Green pulled out of the fashion show for unknown reasons. The Harajuku Barbie, whose ample curves, pink wigs and bizarre fashions apparently inspired some of the looks for the models, makes a perfect fit for the lingerie giant’s show, where she is expected to perform some of her hits like “Super Bass” or perhaps hit the stage with West for a performance of “Monster.”
The Louis Vuitton Don himself was announced as a performer for the show last month. And though this will be that first time that West, as well as Minaj, will be performing for Victoria’s Secret, it isn’t the first time he’s worked with lingerie giant’s models. Just last year, West cast VS vet Selita Ebanks as a scantily-clad “phoenix” in his short film, “Runaway.” Most recently, West called on VS Angel Chanel Iman to walk in and close his premiere womenswear collection, “Dw,” at this season’s Paris Fashion Week. Iman, who previously dated Young Money rapper Tyga, recently shot down rumors she and West had struck up a relationship.
“Rumors are rumors. Everyone’s going to have something to say. We’re really close; we’re cool. We’ve been really tight since I first started modeling, actually,” said Iman to Us Weekly, adding that West is “really supportive” of her modeling career. “He called me to walk in his show inParis. He’s a good guy. He works really hard at what he does, and when you’re around him, you want to be at your best too.”
Though we won’t be seeing any on stage PDA between West and the VS models this year, one thing we would like to see at the show is Minaj getting a little hands on with the models. We know Minaj has an intriguing appreciation for the female frame as well as a penchant for signing her name on women’s breasts at shows. So, below are five models who we’d love to see Minaj “tag” at this year’s show. 1. Adriana Lima – The unofficial titan of VS since the departure of Angels Tyra Banks, Giselle Bundchen and Heidi Klum, Limahas been strutting her bodacious frame for the lingerie brand for more than a decade. And since we know Minaj only likes canoodling with the baddest woof woof’s, it only makes since that she would “tag” VS’s queen stunner.
2. Emanuela De Paula – Another Brazilian import, this biracial beauty is one of VS’s best kept secrets. Though not officially an Angel for the brand, De Paula has worked with them for years, becoming a staple in print campaigns, commercials and runway shows for VS. Aside from having a face that could make even the toughest of men blush, De Paula also sports one of the curviest frames for the brand is sure to have the “Pink Friday” rapper swooning on the runway.
3. Doutzen Kroes – They say that hips don’t lie, and looking at Doutzen hips, you it’s the truth that this beauty from the Netherlands is right where she belongs on the VS runway. With curves that overpower most of her VS counterparts and a face that even a real angel would envy, Minaj would be a fool to pass over this dirty-blonde bombshell.
4. Lais Ribeiro – A newcomer to the VS, family Lais only began posing for the brand last year. But after strutting down last year’s runway in giant feather wings, barely-there knickers and showing off a smile that could melt any heart, we knew this girl was meant truly meant to be an angel. And when Minaj sees her, we’re sure she’ll wanna sign her halo and her boobs.
5. Chanel Iman – As if she wasn’t going to make the list. Besides making her way from the high-fashion catwalks ofParisandMilanto a lucrative Angel contract withVictoria’s Secret, Iman has also made a name for herself in the media, becoming a mentee of Tyra Banks and hobnobbing with some of hip-hop’s elite like West, Drake, Pharrell and KiD CuDi. So, when the leggy, feline-like stunner does hit the runway, we doubt that either Minaj or West will be able to keep their hands off Iman.
