More than a dozen individuals gave a helping hand on Monday, Nov. 21, to pack 283 boxes of food for needy families at the Rhunette Lindsay Senior Complex and Jack Longino Senior Mid-Rise Buildings in College Park, Ga. College Park Housing Authority’s resident services director, Bruce Morgan, organized volunteers who bagged and boxed collard greens, sweet potatoes, cakes and more for Thanksgiving dinners that were donated by retired NFL Veteran Jonas Jennings.
It was such a joyous afternoon, taking a break from work, shopping and preparation to help others and it’s a reminder of what the season is about — showing gratitude for our blessings (good health, wealth and employment) and to give back to our communities.
On Sunday, Nov. 20, Shanti Das, CEO of Press Reset Entertainment, and friends gathered at at Courtland and Pine Street in Atlanta to served over 400 meals to homeless families. This monthly event was recently branded as “No Reservation Needed (N.r.N.).” The menu included Thanksgiving delights: turkey, chicken, dressing, potato salad, string beans, collard greens, yams, macaroni and cheese, rolls and more.
