Nicki Minaj Reveals Sophomore Album Title, Release Date: 12 Roman Zolanksi Rhymes We Love

Fans of Nicki Minaj can rejoice. After promising earlier this year that she would announce plans for her sophomore album, the follow-up to her platinum-debut, Pink Friday, Minaj has now revealed a release date. She also revealed that everyone’s favorite Minaj rap alter ego, Roman Zolanski, will be the star of the album.

On Nov. 22, Minaj took to Twitter to say that she would reveal the release date and title for the album on ustream, as she had with her previous album. But due to technical problems, Minaj decided to reveal the album details via Twitter, sharing that the album will be titled Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded and be released on Valentine’s Day 2012.

“Pink Friday : ROMAN RELOADED will be released on Valentines Day, 2012. Heeeee’s baaaacccckkkkk,” tweeted Minaj. “Its [sic] not called Roman Reloaded. Its called PINK FRIDAY : ROMAN RELOADED!!!!!! 4 WORDS!!!! Love u guys soooo much!!! VALENTINES DAY b–ttcchh!”

Minaj’s Cash Mony boss, Birdman, recently claimed that the album would be released in a few months and earlier this month, Minaj wrote a blog post, claiming that her beloved rabble-rousing gay male alter ego, Roman Zolanksi, would be featured prominently on the album.

“Roman will be in rare form this time. You know why? Cuz he no longer gives a f–k,” she wrote. “He has two more weeks in boarding school. We’re going to pick him up now. When he lands, he will address the nation in the form of music. He will also announce the date.”

Minaj has claimed that for her sophomore album she wants to refrain from having too many guest features and return to her harder-edged hip-hop roots. And with the defiant Roman leading the charge, we don’t have any doubts that that can be accomplished. In case you don’t remember why Roman became Minaj’s fan-favorite alter ego, here are 12 of Mr. Zolanski’s hottest rhymes. –nicholas robinson
