Lakers Are Reeling Over ‘Trade Gate’

David Stern’s choice to veto the Chris Paul trade to the Lakers will have lasting effects. The Lakers trade was a better overall deal for the Hornets, who would have received four dynamic players. However, the small market (i.e. poorly managed) teams rebelled against the trade. The Lakers didn’t get Paul and had to trade Lamar Odom to Dallas because he became an emotional wreck after discovering he was part of the deal. Kobe Bryant voiced his displeasure with the Odom trade. The Lakers must now search for ways to fill his void.
