Kimberly Elise
After landing a breakout role in the highly popular film Set It Off, Kimberly Elise found herself gaining critical respect and acclaim as a supporting actress in films like Beloved, John Q and The Manchurian Candidate. But it was her starring role in Perry’s first theatrical release, Diary of a Mad Black Woman, that proved that Kimberly could carry a film as the lead actress. Kimberly has since starred in Perry’s For Colored Girls as well.
