Inspired by the birth of his first daughter, Blue Ivy, Jay-Z decided to hit the studio to record a dedication song called “Glory.” Although Jay-Z and Beyoncé  have yet to formally announce the birth, Jay-Z’s heartfelt song reveals the thoughts of a man experiencing one of the greatest moments of his life.

“Everything that I prayed for, God’s gift, I wish I would’ve prayed more,” Jay-Z raps. Jay-Z also discloses a miscarriage in the past.


“All the pain of the last time, I prayed so hard it was the last time … Last time the miscarriage was so tragic, we  was afraid you disappeared, but nah, baby, you magic.”

Overall, Jay-Z’s “Glory” reaffirms the importance of fatherhood in the hip-hop community.
