Imitation of Life, 1959: Starring Lana Turner (Lora) and Juanita Moore:
This movie centers around a white widow who loses her daughter at a beach and later finds her being taken care of by a black female divorcee. Touched by her altruistic gesture, Lora takes in Annie, despite not being able to afford Annie’s domestic services. Annie, however, persuades Lora to let her stay to watch after daughter while Lora goes off the pursue her acting career.
