Obama's Rendition of 'Let's Stay Together' Sends Al Green's Record Sales Soaring

When Obama arrived to close out a three-day retreat at the annual House Democrats conference, he was gifted with an audio CD of the lawmakers singing their own version of the Al Green classic.

“I was told that on a CD that I’ve just received that all of you participated in a rendition of Al Green,” Obama said to the group. “What I didn’t realize was that you also had a reverend who can preach as good as Al Green.”

President Obama was referring to Rep. John Larson, D-Conn., the chairman of the House Democratic Caucus who delivered an inspirational introduction to Obama before he addressed the group.

Though Obama’s video performance of “Let’s Stay Together,” went viral, it looks like the Dem’s audio version won’t be released for public consumption. Politico.com is reporting that the president got the sole copy of the recording in existence.

So, after all that great pub Obama got for singing a few notes of a song Al Green made famous decades ago, how did Al  think the president did?
