Shyne and Biggie Smalls
After the death of The Notorious B.I.G in 1997, Diddy needed another hit making emcee to round out his Bad Boy roster. Not long after, Diddy signed Belizean rapper Shyne to his label and once the rapper hit the scene, fans quickly recognized his skill — as well as his distinct voice, which sounds eerily similar to Biggie’s. Many wondered if Diddy signed Shyne just to have a Biggie replacement, but both Diddy and Shyne denied the rumors.
