Things can become especially confusing if the female friend reaches a point where she wants the benefits that the girlfriend receives; Valentine’s Day gifts, meeting the parents, hanging out with other couples, traveling together, public acknowledgement, and on and on.
She catches feelings and forgets the golden rule of FWBs: Mind-blowing sex, and then you go your separate ways.
In extreme cases, the woman may believe that if she works hard and loves even harder, she will receive a promotion from “friend” to “girlfriend.”
