Part Networker, Part Party Girl
There she is — the “business” woman dressed in streetwalker attire. She’s there to score, if not a rich husband, at least a one-night stand. She will zero in on her mark and affix herself to his side for the remainder of the night. If the professional guy is there to make connections that will move his business forward, he’s sidetracked for good. If things go all the way, and the connection is short-lived, both parties risk running into each other again and again at future networking events. How awkward!
Warns executive coach John Heckers, “Networking events are not private. They are not personal, they are not protected.”
