I’m not much for prognostication, but it was this sports reporter who predicted that the NBA lockout would end in time for the annual Christmas Day NBA telecasts we count on enjoying along with the gifts and holiday meal. What a gift this shortened NBA season has been. The lockout served a purpose in that it heightened anticipation and interest in the league. It saw teams facing a crammed schedule during the months of February and March, with some teams playing as many as 10 games in 14 days. Now the survivors are preparing for the second season and I personally hope it will be like last year, when the NBA Playoffs had a college tournament feel to them.
