After two seasons on the hit VH1 reality show “Love & Hip-Hop,” it’s now been revealed that show’s stars Chrissy Lampkin and her fiancé, Jim Jones, are leaving the show.
Since the end of season two, both Lampkin and Jones claimed that they were weary of returning for a third season and after months of speculation and rumors, Jones’ mother, Nancy (Mama Jones, confirmed during a recent radio interview that the Jones family would be leaving the show, according to S2S.
But the Joneses aren’t done with reality TV just yet. She also revealed that Lampkin and Jones will be getting their own show and that she will, too. However, it’s unclear just which network the shows will land on, though it could very well be on VH1.
“We definitely are giving them the first one — the first bid,” Nancy told Coast 97.3, adding that she’s unsure if the couple’s show will cover any potential wedding plans. “I don’t know about their wedding yet. We’re jumping the gun on that one, but I do know they are going to have a show.”
Despite early reports claiming that the show will be called “Jim and the Family Jones,” Mama Jones blurted out, “I thought it’s gonna be called ‘Jim & Chrissy.’ ”
As for her own show, which will be called “Mama’s House,” Nancy was scarce on details, but revealed that it will debut “probably October, November sometime around [when] Jim and Chrissy start their show.”
We’re sure gonna miss seeing the Joneses on “Love & Hip-Hop,” but this surely isn’t the first time a reality show has had a cast shakeup. Check out a list of other famous reality show departures below. –nicholas robinson
