The father is the lead singer of The Main Ingredient musical group. And the son gave an Oscar-worthy and steady performance of a young man rifling though the mean streets of Los Angeles in the John Singleton classic Boyz N the Hood. Gooding Jr. actually won an Academy Award with his dynamic portrayal of a disgruntled football player in the Tom Cruise-led Jerry McGuire. He’s also starred in A Few Good Men, The Fighting Temptations and most recently, Red Tails.
