Oprah Winfrey
The talk show host received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree in 2009 from Duke University. She was also awarded one from Howard University in 2007, as well as one from the University of the Free State in South Africa in 2011. Winfrey spoke at Spelman College’s 2012 commencement ceremony where she received the institution’s National Community Service Award. Winfrey previously received an honorary doctorate from Spelman in 1993.
