Ne-Yo has a lot to smile about these days. He’s starred in hit films like Battle: LA and Red Tails, he has a fifth studio album, R.E.D. on the way, and his love life with girlfriend Monyetta Shaw couldn’t be better. But what’s making the superstar smile the most are his two kids, Madilyn Grace, 18 months, and Mason Evan, 8 months. And the proud papa is beaming with joy in PEOPLE magazine’s new Father’s Day special.
In the special feature, Ne-Yo gushes about his two rays of light and says the two little tykes easily one his heart with their distinct personalities.
“Madi’s a little rough and tumble with me because she was my first kid, so all of the little boy things I wanted to do, I did with her,” said Ne-Yo. “She and I wrestle, and she loves it.”
Though most would expect that Ne-Yo’s youngest child, Mason, would be just as much of a handful as Madilyn, Ne-Yo says that he’s “the most mellow baby on the planet.”
Ne-Yo also explained that his daughter is already starting to take after him in the fashion department.
“She loves clothes,” said Ne-Yo. “You could put three dresses in front of her and she’ll pick her favorite, and normally it’s the flyest one. I’m thinking she gets that from me. Yeah! Daddy’s fashion sense.”
