Bacon Sundae Coming to BK
The world’s second biggest hamburger chain is taking a risky step this week and releasing a new menu item that contains ice cream, caramel, fudge and pork. On June 14 Burger King is releasing their bacon sundae as part of a limited edition summer menu. The concoction that’s already been served in Nashville, Tenn., obviously isn’t the healthiest option on the fast-food chain’s menu, but it’s not the worst. If you’re willing to try the bacon infused treat, you’ll use up 510 calories, 18 grams of fat and 61 grams of sugar. The sundae seems to be BK’s answer to the maple bacon sundae that’s been available to Denny’s consumers since last year. The restaurant offered the dessert as part of their so-called “Baconalia” celebration.
In addition to the bacon sundae, BK will introduce sweet potato fries, a pulled pork sandwich, frozen lemonade and a series of new chicken and beef whoppers.
While bacon sundaes sound unbelievably fatty, they’re far from the worst fast-food desserts available. Check out the 10 worst fast-food desserts as recorded by MainStreet.com below. –danielle canada
