Fans of the drama-heavy “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” were both shocked and appalled when Joseline Hernandez revealed only three episodes into the season that she was pregnant by her producer and secret boyfriend, Stevie J. And though the story line brought about heavy flack for the show and its stars, Stevie J says that he has no regrets about airing his infidelity or Hernandez’s pregnancy on TV.
During a recent interview on MTV’s “RapFix Live,” Stevie J and series producer Mona Scott-Young, spoke with host Sway Calloway about the show’s authenticity. While on the couch, Stevie spoke about letting his pregnancy drama and his love triangle with his mistress, Hernandez, and his longtime girlfriend, Mimi Faust, air on TV.
“I live my life. I’m happy with it. I have no regrets,” said Stevie, before adding with a sly grin: “maybe one or two, but not too many. I’m just gon’ keep living.”
“You know, it happens to the best of us, man, we just gotta deal with it,” he continued, “gotta deal with whatever comes our way.”
When asked how he felt when he learned that he was the father of Hernandez’s child, Stevie claimed, “I had to take a sip and think about it.”
Of course, viewers know that after heated confrontations with Stevie and Faust, Hernandez decided to terminate her pregnancy. When Stevie was asked if there was a backlash concerning her decision, Stevie replied, “absolutely.”
“Let me just say, I’m pro-life, I have children. But at the time, I just gave her an option,” he said of the woman he’s been grooming for a music-industry blowup. “I just felt that she wasn’t ready financially; she’s working on her career. So I just gave an option. … I’m definitely not God, so at the end of the day, I just gave a suggestion.”
