In 2009, Kim Zolciak broke up with her married boyfriend after he gave her a diamond “commitment” ring but refused to divorce his wife. She later shared her story with Essence, “I am not engaged to Big Papa! I got a commitment ring last year and so when I got this new ring, I was led to believe that his divorce was final. Who gives someone a massive rock and makes this commitment if he wasn’t serious? I found out that I was still on the same merry-go-round.”
