Bad Timing. A man wants what he wants, and if he doesn’t want marriage, no amount of begging, counseling or encouragement is going to change that. Professional cyclist Lance Armstrong divorced his first wife in 2003 and dated musician Sheryl Crow soon thereafter. Crow wanted a ring and a family and in 2005 the couple announced their engagement.
Truth be told, Armstrong did not want to jump into another marriage. “She wanted marriage,” he noted in his book, Lance. “She wanted children; and not that I didn’t want that, but I didn’t want that at that time because I had just gotten out of a marriage, I’d just had kids.”
Crow and Armstrong broke up a few months after the engagement announcement.
