LAS VEGAS – What makes the annual Ford Hoodie Awards so unique is that, for at least one time a year, celebrities serve as decorative backdrop to the true stars of the evening: the African American businessman and women who represent the best of the urban community from around the nation.
But the usually anonymous businesspeople also took front and center in the fashion department at Steve Harvey’s awards program at the MGM Hotel and Casino on Vegas’ famous Strip. Cloaking themselves in colorful and eye-popping accoutrements, the “regular” people gave the celebrities a run for their money, even Harvey, who is famously attired in expensive tailored outfits whenever he appears in public.
