At the Wood-Star Festival in Chicago, Estelle was a crowd favorite. The gorgeous Ebony UK sensation sang a full roster of songs from funky covers of top hits to a few of her own breakout songs. Estelle has a potty mouth, too, and told the women in the audience that they can “Be a Freak Every Day of the Week,” if the men in their lives want to have sex with them but not claim them in the morning.
Robin Thicke followed Estelle with a solid performance, as well. The Wood-Star Festival concluded with a throwback hip hop concert where attendees compete for the best ’80s hip-hop costume.
The Wood-Star Music Festival is a three-day concert event in Chicago that benefits the Shannon Brown Foundation, a nonprofit organization designed to prevent violence and improve the quality of life for at-risk families. For more information, visit www.WoodStarMusicFestival.com.
