What’s the best advice you can offer to aspiring artists?
I would say, don’t worry about following trends. … Just be true to your heart, write good music, and do what you love. Happiness is number one. If you’re not happy, then what are you doing it for?
What new projects do you have?
My album is called Commit Me. There’s going to be 12 tracks on there. One of them is featuring Chicago’s very own Common; it’s called “Between the Lines.” 106.3 is spinning a single called “I Wish I Knew” produced by Ivan & Carvin, who did Musiq Soulchild … Jasmine Sullivan, Jill Scott and yeah.
