Perhaps it was fitting that Terrell “T.O.” Owens and Chad Johnson seemed like veritable twins on the football field and even saddled up together to do a reality show. Both are former NFL superstars. Both had flamboyant, in-your-face personalities. Both had their own TV shows. Both read their own headlines, believed their own hype and listened to the herd of groupies who stampeded into their corner to get a piece of the fame and fortune.
Today, both are broke, both are alone, both have been cut from their NFL teams (in the same week) and both face a mountain of legal proceedings and a thick stack of bills.
To see how they were on top of the sports and entertainment worlds just a few years ago, and to gaze at their predicament now, is almost sad.
Unfortunately, as rolling out, bleacherreport.com and espn.com point out, theirs are not the only ones whose legacies were tarnished by behavior on and off the field, as you’ll see below.
