Emmitt Smith is the NFL’s all-time leading rusher. He should have retired after the 2001 season.

Emmitt was released by Dallas after the 2002 season, which should have been an indication to him that it was time to go, but he instead signed with the Arizona Cardinals. After two more pathetic seasons, Smith finally retired, but his legacy took a direct hit.
