On Sept. 29, 2012, the Naturality Hair and Fashion Show will take place. The hair and fashion show is a part of Columbia College Chicago’s alumni weekend.
The Naturality Show is a fashion event that combines makeup artistry, fashion design and the art of hairstyling. The Naturality Show was created by a group of Columbia College Chicago students who appreciated all forms of art and genuine, natural beauty.
The students, whose majors ranged from fashion studies, marketing, public relations, journalism and poetry to photography, wanted to create a show that highlighted their talents.
The show will feature fashion designs from Samantha Chatman, Columbia College fashion design senior and 2012 Weisman Award winner. Makeup and hairstyles will be done by various Columbia College students and alumni.been able to showcase their talents like this before. The mission is to promote acceptance of your naturality while collaborating across various art forms including hair and makeup artistry.
The word “naturality” has been used to define one’s characteristics that they celebrate and are comfortable with. Anyone can have naturality just as long as they are comfortable with themselves.
The show will take place on Sept. 29, 2012, during the annual alumni and student luncheon from noon to 1:30 p.m. at 618 South Michigan Stage Two. To learn more about the show or purchase tickets, visit www.colum.edu/alumniweekend. Ticket sales benefit student scholarships at Columbia College.
