Sunday Program: Are You Ashamed to Express Your Religion in the Workplace?

Maggie Thomas (Facebook)

I don’t necessarily hide my religious affiliation, or lack thereof, from people … but I do carefully choose when I do and do not let others know about it. I’m not ashamed in any way of being an Atheist, but I have been judged without any consideration of my true character enough times that I no longer want to have to endure the criticism if I don’t have to. The majority of people who negatively judge others for their choice of religious affiliation are doing so based on uneducated presumptions. It’s quite sad. I have learned over the years that I just have to be the bigger person and choose my battles carefully. It doesn’t offend me if one is Christian, Muslim, Hindu, or Buddhist … why should it offend anyone if I am none of the above? I just peacefully keep it to myself.
