Aimee Whitchurch, 38, and Christel Conklin, 29
Aimee Whitchurch and Christel Conklin reported to Parker, Colo,. deputies that the words “Kill the Gay” were written in red spray paint on their garage door and they found a noose hanging on the front door handle. Accusing the neighbors and homeowner’s association of retaliation, the lesbian couple convinced the sheriff’s office that this was a hate crime. The FBI investigated and after gathering witness statements, they determined the incidents were staged by Whitchurch and Conklin. Both women were charged with criminal mischief and false reporting. $1,000 bonds were issued for both women.
