Eddie Murphy Hits the Red Carpet With New Girl
After seemingly splitting with his ex-BET host girlfriend, an actor/comedian was recently spotted with a new leading lady on his arm. Eddie Murphy, 51, was seen with a “mystery blonde” several times in October as they went on dinner dates and early morning coffee runs. Now however, the woman has been identified as Paige Butcher. Butcher, an Australian model, previously dated Tyson Beckford and hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons. And while neither she nor Eddie have spoken publicly about their relationship, the pair looked very much like a couple this week at ‘Spike TV’s’ tribute to the funnyman. Late Saturday, Eddie and Butcher joined Samuel L. Jackon, Jamie Foxx, Charlie Murphy and a host of other celebs at the network’s “Eddie Murphy: One Night Only” show praising the funny man for his years in the comedy field. “This is really a touching, moving thing, and I really appreciate it,” said Murphy about the occasion in his honor. “You know what it’s like when you have something like this? You know when they sing happy birthday to you? It’s like that for like two hours… and I am Eddied out.” “Eddie Murphy: One Night Only” will air Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 10 p.m. Murphy’s red carpet appearance marked his first time officially stepping out with his blonde bombshell by his side.
Just a few months back, Eddie had a similar “coming out” with his then girlfriend Rocsi Diaz at Debra Lee’s Pre-BET Awards Celebration during the 2012 BET Awards at Union Station. Sources close to the now ex-couple say that Murphy grew tired of Diaz who was “insecure” and began ignoring his text messages and phone calls.
