Few stars know what it feels like to become the target of an entire nation better than Stacey Dash, who seemingly became public enemy No. 1 in the black community once she publicly endorsed former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney. And though the election is over and President Barack Obama beat out Romney for the presidency, Dash is still dealing with the backlash from her endorsement. Now Star Jones has joined the bash Dash bandwagon and recently spoke out against the Republican star for her pro-Romney stance.
During a recent trip to “The Wendy Williams Show,” Jones talked about black Republicans, saying that she saw nothing wrong with black people joining the political party. But, she says that she took real issue with Dash supporting a candidate like Romney.
“I encourage African Americans, brown people, to be involved in politics, because you know I encourage you to be a part of both national parties,” Star told Wendy Williams. “But if you have a vagina, brown skin, and a brain, I don’t see how you could have endorsed Romney.”
Jones said that Romney’s thoughts and policies on minorities, women and health care among other things were unconscionable and that she couldn’t see herself or anyone else like her voting for him.
“Romney-Ryan was against health, voter suppression, and every major policy flipped throughout the campaign,” said Star. “So, do you, endorse who you’re gonna endorse, but understand, I’m gonna come for it.”
