Kevin Clash facing second lawsuit
After dodging a lawsuit from an aspiring model claiming that he engaged in an inappropriate sexual relationship with him while he was a minor, the voice of Elmo is facing similar accusations again. Kevin Clash, 52, is facing an arraignment from a man in his 30s that claims Clash preyed on him when he was 15-years-old. According to the accuser, who is remaining anonymous, the two met on a gay phone chat line back in 1993 when he was underage and Clash was 32.
Legal documents from the man state that “Clash groomed [the accuser] to gain his trust by, among other things, taking him to nice dinners and giving him money.” Furthermore he claims that the Sesame Street star was “preying on teenage boys to satisfy his depraved sexual interests” and he “did not become aware that he had suffered adverse psychological and emotional effects from Kevin Clash’s sexual acts and conduct until 2012.” He is demanding $5 million from Clash.
As previously reported Clash’s first accuser Sheldon Stephens recanted and claimed that he and the pupeteer did indeed have a relationship, but only after he was of legal age. -danielle canada
