It’s been several years since music icon Michael Jackson passed away, but it seems that even in death the King of Pop will not be free of his troubled past. Yesterday, it was revealed that famous choreographer Wade Robson has filed legal documents claiming that Jackson molested him when he was a child.
According to TMZ, Robson met Jackson when he was five and forged a friendship with him that lasted for years. When Robson was seven, he began having sleep overs at Neverland and MJ’s homes in L.A. and Vegas. The sleep overs continued until Wade was 14.
Now, Robson is asking for money from the Michael Jackson Estate for childhood sexual abuse. Ironically, Robson testified in Jackson’s infamous 2005 molestation trial and claimed that MJ never molested him.
Jackson’s former housekeeper, Blanca Francia, also testified at that trial and claimed she witnessed Jackson in the shower with Wade when the boy was 8 or 9 years old.
The complaint, which is under seal from the public, outlines Jackson’s alleged sexual abuse and supposedly mentions a psychiatrist who treated Robson in the wake of his molestation.
However, Attorney Tom Mesereau, who led Jackson’s defense case in 2005, told TMZ that “Michael never touched Robson inappropriately in any way” and that Robson’s belated claim “must be just about money.”
Howard Weitzman, the attorney for the Jackson estate, also refuted Robson’s claims, saying that, “Mr. Robson’s claim is outrageous and pathetic. This is a young man who has testified at least twice under oath over the past 20 years and said in numerous interviews that Michael Jackson never did anything inappropriate to him or with him.”
“Now, nearly 4 years after Michael has passed, this sad and less than credible claim has been made,” Weitzman added. “We are confident that the court will see this for what it is.”
