What is your hair maintenance regimen?

I wash and deep condition my hair every Sunday. I’ve been alternating a protein deep conditioner one week and a moisturizing deep conditioner the next to maintain the appropriate balance of moisture and protein. I use my Hydratherma Wrap to give my hair some heat while I deep condition for 30 minutes. After rinsing out the deep conditioner, I divide my hair into four sections and clip all but one. I begin washing the unclipped section of hair with either a cleansing cream or lathering shampoo. Once I’ve washed and rinsed a section I apply my leave-in conditioner detangling with my fingers then with my bone comb or Denman brush and make a large, loose two strand twist and clip it to my head. I repeat the same process with the remaining three sections of hair. Once I’ve finished, I squeeze each twist to get rid of any excess water and leave-in conditioner. From there, I move on to oiling my scalp and twisting my hair with my 50/50 blend of Jamaican Black Castor Oil and olive oil. This combination of twisting butter and Jamaican Black Castor oil leaves me with soft, well defined and shiny curls. If I’m trying to achieve a bit more length, I extend each twist around my head and pin with a bobby pin and once dry it gives me the stretch I was looking for. Once my hair is dry, I untwist and typically style my hair in a protective style that I will usually wear for the week.
