Four years ago, Keyshia Cole and Daniel “Boobie” Gibson, a sharpshooter with swag for the Cleveland Cavaliers, were introduced through a mutual friend after Gibson announced that she was his celebrity crush. According to Ebony magazine, Daniel said the two actually developed strong mutual feelings for each other the old fashioned way — over the phone. They talked for three or four months long distance before ever meeting each other, often talking long into the night about their aspirations, their goals and their visions of a family, Gibson revealed, before they ever actually met. By the time the two linked up, it was a done deal, Gibson said, as the romance moved quickly. By New Year’s of that same year, he proposed to Keyshia, dropping to one knee just as the ball dropped at midnight.
They now have a son, Daniel Gibson Jr., who is two years old.
