After father Joe concluded his professional basketball career in Italy, the family moved back to Philadelphia, settling in suburban Lower Merion. This is where the Kobe prep legend would not only sprout, it would explode across the country as a five-position superstar Lower Merion High School.  Interestingly enough, Kobe’s father coached him his second year of high school. Bryant was a varsity player as a freshman and established himself as a regional star during his sophomore and junior seasons.
