The ENQUIRER outed that Lamar’s dad, Joe Odom, 58, who claimed he served in Viet Nam while in the U.S. Army on their reality show. On an episode of “Khloe & Lamar,” the senior Odom said he suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), resulting from witnessing his entire platoon get wiped out during his tour of duty. He even exaggerated the story to say that he was forced to hide in a foxhole filled with dead soldiers to survive.
He also blames his longtime heroin addiction — which caused him to be an absentee father for most of Lamar’s life — on his PTSD. But according to Joe’s official military records, he worked as a cook – not as an infantryman — from Feb. 27, 1971, to April 20, 1973, when he was discharged. He never left U.S. soil.
