Of course, Hillary Rodham Clinton ran for the same senate seat as her precedessor, Robert F. Kennedy, in New York after her husband Bill Clinton completed his two terms as president in the 1990s. She also, like RFK, ran for the presidency in 2008. Whether Michelle Obama follows in Hillary Clinton’s footsteps remains to be seen.
