#5 I Missed Us by SWV
Possibly an even more unexpected 90s comeback than Brandy’s, SWV’s first album in over a decade had even more reasons to be, at best, a polite reintroduction; or at worst, a forgettable failure. Thankfully, it wasn’t close to either. Instead, Coco, Taj and LeeLee released one of the more accomplished albums of their career. Sounding fully engaged and given some of their strongest songs; this is very much a “grown woman” album. Easily the biggest surprise of the year.
