Olympian Michelle Carter and Lewis Johnson

Recently local Olympians Jon Drummond, Team USA relays coach and gold medalist, Michelle Carter, two-time Olympic shot putter, Rickey Dudley, NFL Super Bowl XXXVII  champion Carl Sheffield, and Director of Track and Field, University of North Texas, joined seven-time NBC Olympic commentator and ESPN reporter, Lewis Johnson in collecting 200 coats at his World-Class Coat Drive benefiting Hurricane Sandy victims. His wife, French artist Dominique Galleron-Johnson, hosted his 50th Birthday celebration and World-Class Coat Drive at her art gallery, A Touch of Paris, in Grapevine, TX. Many of Johnson’s world-class athletes and community friends donated new coats as well as clean gently used winter coats, jackets, scarves, hats and gloves to benefit New York Cares 24th Annual Coat Drive and the Boys & Girls Clubs in the New York/New Jersey Metropolitan area. Earlier Lewis hosted a Kids Holiday Village to encourage giving as a family and shared an Olympic-inspired talk on health, fitness, goal-setting and working out with Get Fit Training Studio and Holiday treats provided by Golden Corral of Keller, TX and Masonic Lodge King of Kings Lodge #1.
