So tell us about stand-up.
I was doing it to learn Richard Pryor, so I could learn to play him in a movie — but I don’t know what’s up with the movie. So I hope this one [A Haunted House] does well and I can try and get some money raised so I can do that Richard Pryor movie, because it’s a special script and it would be a special experience. But in the meantime if it doesn’t happen, or even if it does happen, Richard Pryor brought me to stand-up and I’m never sitting my black a– down. I love stand-up. I started out wanting to play a great, and now honestly I want to be great. I’m still a rookie; I do well and I get really good laughs, but I want you to see me in 10 years. At that point, I hope to have something really special. In the meantime, I’m just developing and learning how to become one of the greats.
