When asked if he was “ready” to make his Broadway debut alongside such an established cast and with such a revered work, Cuba Gooding Jr. replied succinctly and confidently: “Yes!”
“I believe in divine intervention and I pray every day that God’s will be done,” Gooding said. “The way that it has manifested itself to present this opportunity to me is nothing short of a miracle, in my eyes. And then when I heard Vanessa [Williams] and [Condola] Rashad were on board, I was like ‘Oh yeah! Very nice.’”
