“Sojourner” is a biography of Sojourner Truth. “Sojourner” takes a look at her life, not only as a woman, but as a slave. It also takes a compelling look at pre-civil war America. “Sojourner” tells a tale of a young girl sold at auction to a succession of slave masters, set not in the American South, but in the North. This coming-of-age narrative will at times make you laugh, then make you cry, and force you to take a look at the morals, values and conditions that shaped America.
